If I keep joining these photo challenges, I’ll be posting two or three times a day instead of just once a day. Nope. Not gonna happen. But I will post on this one, for the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge. This week’s challenge is Fleeting Moments, and it’s about street photography.

I usually get street photography as we’re driving, and usually it’s a blur as we pass by. I did catch this woman walking up the street in California. That towel on her head, and the garbage-bag tote she was carrying as she walked in front of that fancy-schmancy car in the parking lot behind her – those really caught my eye. What a contrast!!

grab your bag and let’s go!

Twos Day

Window Salad Revisited

After much deliberation (a whole afternoon) and countless hours of studying blog sites with imaginative (and some not so much) titles and blogging ideas, I’ve decided to do my own blog challenge and call it Twos Day. And what day of the week would you think I’d be posting? Uhm . . . .

OK, so I’ve got that out of the way. Now, what do I mean by Twos Day? Pretty much things in twos. Either two photos that tell a story (like the one here), or a couple of ideas that popped into my head, or photos of two things – anything that will challenge me to think every Tuesday. That’s my day for not thinking, usually.  S O O O O . . . here’s my first Twos Day Post!!

I posted this picture on theREmissionary, about Window Salad

window salad, anyone?

Well, here it is in all its present glory!

it’s growing!!!

We’ve already started more window salad, by the way . . . I’ve got hubby hooked! 🙂

Travel theme: Street Markets

Lately I’ve been finding a whole bunch of photo challenges on WordPress, and they ALL look so fun that I want to get in on the whole bunch! But since I probably won’t do that, I’ll try to limit my OCD to about 3 of the myriad of opportunities.

One I just found this weekend was from  Where’s My Backpack?  with a photo theme of street markets. What fun! And it  just. so. happened that we were heading out the door to a Saturday Market when I stumbled across her blog. MAJORLY fun!! (yah, I know, ‘majorly’ isn’t in the English-speaking dictionary, just in the LubbyGirl dictionary)

Anyway . . .  here are a few of the pictures I got while we were buying our strawberries and cucumbers and getting soaked by the sudden downpour.

Well, I think we’ve about covered that last road trip marathon. I wonder, though – would it be called a marathon? Maybe a carathon? No, I’ll think of it as a mare-athon, because of all those horses under the hood of the car.

Anyway, we made it from Wyoming to South Dakota in the last leg (Hoof?) of the journey, and found ourselves very briefly in Nebraska, just long enough to count as having been there. Iowa was the next destination, before heading up into hubby’s home state of Minnesota. Who would travel across 7 states to go to a State Fair for one day? Us.

And to the Minnesota State Fair we went! Hubby has always loved the MN State Fair, and wanted to have me share in that experience at least once. It was . . . fair. No, really, it was more than fair. It was fun!  But boy was it HOT!!!

Visiting family at their campsite in Wisconsin was next, then back over to Minnesota to visit other family members, and fish off their pontoon in their back yard. Yes, hubby’s brother is blessed to actually LIVE on a lake in Minnesota. But then, most people in Minnesota live either at the water’s edge or within spittin’ distance of a lake, so I guess that’s not an unusual thing there. But his place is so beautiful, for me it was really special. I mean, after all, it was there, on that trip, that I earned my nickname of The Fish Whisperer. I stopped counting at 10. We had SUCH a feast that night!! My brother-in-law really knows how to cook fish.

From Minnesota we headed over to Montana. There are a few pictures here, but I’ll just make the rest of Montana and North Dakota another post altogether – too many photos for this jaunt!

(has anyone noticed how much I seem to love punctuation? Like exclamation points!! And dashes – and even . . . yep, don’t forget those! Just thought I’d ask)
